Występowanie
Rodzaj obejmuje gatunki występujące w Azji[3].
Morfologia
Długość ciała 13,3–22 cm, masa ciała 8,8–49 g[4].
Systematyka
Etymologia
Nazwa rodzajowa jest połączeniem słów z języka greckiego: αραχνης arakhnēs – „pająk” oraz -θηρας -thēras – „łowca” (θηραω thēraō – „polować” (θηρ thēr, θηρος thēros – „bestia, zwierzę”))[5].
