サキ属^[2]^[4]

サキ (saki) は、哺乳綱霊長目サキ科サキ属 (Pithecia) およびヒゲサキ属 (Chiropotes)^[要出典]に分類される猿の総称。南米アマゾンの北側に分布する。

ヒゲサキ属はサキ亜科には属するが、サキ属よりウアカリ属 (Cacajao) に近縁である^[5]^[6]

特徴

オスのサキには白い顔が、メスのサキの顔には白いマークがある^[要出典]。

他の猿と異なり、両親とその子らによる小さい家族グループで生活する^[要出典]。

分類

かつてはシロガオサキP. pitheciaとモンクサキ（マンクサキ）P. monachusの2種でサキ属を構成するとされていた^[2]。1979年にモンクサキからキイロサキP. albicans・P. hirsutaを分割する説が提唱された^[2]。1979年の分類におけるP. hirsutaの和名が「クロヒゲサキ」とされたこともある^[7]。1987年にモンクサキからセキドウサキP. aequatorialis・ハゲガオサキP. irrorataが分割された（P. hirsutaは1987年に再度モンクサキのシノニムとされた）^[1]^[3]。2014年にシノニムの復活および新種記載を含めた複数種の分割が提唱された^[3]。

Pithecia milleri (1914年のJ.A.Allenによる記載を復活、モンクサキの亜種 P.monachus milleri を種に昇格)
Pithecia napensis(1938年のLonnbergによる記載を復活、モンクサキの亜種 P.monachus napensis を種に昇格)
Pithecia isabela 新種。
Pithecia cuzuzai 新種。
Pithecia vanzolinii Pithecia irrorata の亜種 P.irrorata vanzolinii を種に昇格
Pithecia rylandsi 新種。
Pithecia mittermeieri 新種。
Pithecia pissinattii 新種。
Pithecia chrysocephala シロガオサキ亜種 P.pithecia chrysocephala を種に昇格。同時に基亜種P.pithecia pithecia の一部もこちらに分類。

人間との関係

sakiという名称は、現地での呼称に由来すると考えられている^[2]。

トゥピ語から、フランス語に借用された^[10]。
