ケンブリッジ中国史

『ケンブリッジ中国史』（ケンブリッジちゅうごくし、英語: The Cambridge History of China）は、ケンブリッジ大学出版局から刊行中のイギリスの中国史の叢書である。

概要

1966年からデニス・C・トゥウィチェットとハーバード大学のジョン・キング・フェアバンクが取り組んだのが、英語による初めての包括的な中国史の出版計画であった(The Cambridge History of China)。当初の予定では全6巻本のシリーズであったが、時とともに成長し現在は全15巻本の計画になっている。

この叢書の各章には当代随一の歴史家が執筆にあてられたので、権威ある中国史としてとても高く評価されている（2019年現在も完結していない）。トゥウィチェットは多くの部分を担当し、最初から他界するまでシリーズ全体を指導した。

トゥウィチェットは慎重にも秦代以前の中国について本を作ることを控えていた。第7巻の序文で彼が述べているように、この時代に関してはまだ十分に解明されていないことが多かったからである。その後、研究も進展し、1999年にはマイケル・ロウとエドワード・ショウネシーによって編集された『ケンブリッジ古代中国史 太古～紀元前221年』が出版された。

北京の中国社会科学出版社と台北の南天書局よりそれぞれ中国語訳が刊行されている。
