Louisa May Alcott (/ˈɔːlkət, -kɒt/; 29 November 1832 – 6 Maret 1888) adalah seorang penyair dan penulis Amerika.^[1] Di antara karyanya yang terkenal adalah novel Little Women (1868), dan sekuelnya Little Men (1871), serta Jo's Boys (1886).^[2] Ia dibesarkan di New England oleh orangtuanya yang merupakan penganut paham Transendentalisme, yaitu Abigail May dan Amos Bronson Alcott. Ia tumbuh besar dikelilingi oleh para intelektual saat itu, seperti Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Henry David Thoreau, dan Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.^[3]
