Yuddho (or Juddho; English: War) is a 2005 Indian Bengali language vigilante action-thriller film written and directed by Rabi Kinnagi. Produced by Shrikant Mohta under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films, it stars Mithun Chakraborty and Jeet, two biggest superstars of Bengal for the first time together, along with Debashree Roy, Koel Mallick, Rajatava Dutta, Bharat Kaul, Kaushik Banerjee and Sumit Ganguly.[5] The story revolves around a police officer who is falsely accused of murdering his wife and imprisoned as he has been investigating a rape case that involves the younger brother of a powerful MLA. The officer then manages to evade the prison and get his revenge.

The screenplay and dialogues of the film was written by N.K. Salil. The music of the fims was composed by Jeet Gannguli, with the action sequences by Judo Ramu.[2] It was an all-time blockbuster at the box office with a long run consisting of 180 days in the theatres and also became the highest-grossing Bengali film of 2005.[4]

Massively, Yuddho got positive reviews from the critics and audiences. Choreography of the car and bike chasing sequences was praised by the critics, with performances by the entire cast particularly the electrifying chemistry among Mithun Chakraborty, Jeet and Rajatava Dutta. After the broadcast of Sangeet Bangla, all the songs of the film aired on it and became chartbusters breaking all records during its release.

According to his theory, he always gives a chance of becoming good to every criminals. But if he meets any criminal twice or thrice, it is in hospital or morgue respectively. He keeps getting transferred due to his aggressive nature towards the criminals and ends up at Uttarpara police station marking his 25th transfer to a significant place. He lives with his wife Sandhya Roy (Debashree Roy) who does not put the blame on Agnishwar for his angry nature and always leads a happy life with him.

In Keyatola, an area at Uttarpara, there lived a good-hearted local vagabond as well as goon named Surya Sinha (Jeet). Due to his presence, no others goons from other areas, enters there. In fact, Police also cannot arrest him for being scared of him. Then Agnishwar calls him at the police station and tells him about his theory, but Surya informs Agnishwar, if he would've come to his area, he would teach him a good lesson. All on a sudden, Agnishwar being apparent at Keyatola, fights with Surya, but couldn't arrest him as constable gave him news that his wife was very ill.

The next day, Surya comes to know that Meena, the daughter of Master Moshai (the reputed teacher of the area) has been brutally gang-raped the previous night when she was returning home after attending the college function with his friend Barsha (Koel Mallick). Then Surya looks into the matter and with the help of Barsha, gets the knowledge of the real incident. Ranjit Saha (Bharat Kaul), the younger brother of the local MLA named Joy Chand Saha (Rajatava Dutta), abducted both Meena and herself when they were returning from a college function. During this incident Barsha could escape, but Ranjit violently rapes Meena in his car, leaving her to die. Hearing this incident, Surya attacks Ranjit at his residence. Then Ranjit's bodyguards calls the police and being arrested, Surya expresses his anger on Agnishwar informing about all the crimes that took place the previous night.

After justifying the truth, Agnishwar arrests Ranjit. Barsha gives her nod to be the witness in the court. To take revenge, MLA Saha hires his believable henchman Kallu (Sumit Ganguly), to kill Agnishwar's wife Sandhya, who was pregnant. When she stars shopping at the market, Kallu attacks her, but is brutally beaten by Surya, who was present there at that point of time. After knowing this, Agnishwar becomes thankful to Surya and comes to know that till then Surya dreams to be a police officer but cann't be for the circumstances forcing him to be a goon.

he MLA gets Agnishwar put in prison and his wife Sandhya murdered. There starts Agnishwar's revenge where he slowly kills all the persons responsible for putting him behind bars and killing his wife, ending with the death of the MLA and himself at the hands of Surya, who has by now become a police officer.
