Qeshm County (Persian: شهرستان قشم) is in Hormozgan province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Qeshm.[3]
Demographics
Population
At the time of the 2006 National Census, the county's population was 103,881 in 22,642 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 117,774 people in 28,798 households.[5] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 148,993 in 40,506 households.[2] Qeshm is a free trade zone and has good potential for business.[6]
After the census, the villages of Laft and Ramkan in the Central District were elevated to the status of cities.[7]
In May 2017, Larak Rural District was transferred from Shahab District to the Central District.[8] In November 2017, Dulab Rural District and Salakh Rural District were separated from Shahab District in the establishment of Hara District.[9] In March 2019, Hormuz District was transferred to Bandar Abbas County.[10]
