Nadigai (transl. Actress) is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language drama film directed by G. Babuganesh and starring himself and Tejashree are in the lead roles. Babu Ganesh scored the music for this film.

Plot

Albert sets out to make a film on Mumtaj starring dancer Tejashree, and they fall in love. Albert briefly considers having Mumtaj play herself before reverting back to Tejashree. The film also highlights the dark things that happen in the cinema industry with Director Titanic and Dr. Daniel raping Tejashree's sister Chandra and killing Mumtaj.

Production

This film began production in early 2007 with Vadivelu initially supposed to be a part of the film. This film is about the mysterious deaths of Indian heroines such as Divya Bharati, Fatafat Jayalakshmi, Monal, Prathyusha, Shoba and Silk Smitha.[1][2] This film was reported to marked the comeback of Kanaka after a hiatus.[3] The film was shot in Chennai, Coimbatore, Pondicherry and in Sri Lanka with Sri Lankan actors.[1] The song "Roja Malare Rajakumari" from Veera Thirumagan (1962), the Hindi song "Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hai" from Khal Nayak (1993) and a rhythm from Hero (1983) were remixed and used in the film.[4]

Soundtrack

The music was composed by Babu Ganesh, who also wrote the lyrics.[5] S. A. Chandrasekhar, Mansoor Ali Khan, Jayachitra and Amresh Ganesh attended the audio launch as guests.[6]
