Fred A. Reed (born 1939) was a journalist, author and translator born in the United States who has published and translated several books.[1] He is a three-time winner of the Governor General's Award for French to English translation, for his translations of works by Thierry Hentsch and Martine Desjardins, and received six further shortlisted nominations.

He became Muslim in 2002, and died in Agadir/Morocco on February 14, 2024; and is buried there.[2]
