Harry Carey "Dobe" Jr. (Saugus, Califòrnia, 16 de maig de 1921 − Santa Barbara, 27 de desembre de 2012) va ser un actor de cinema estatunidenc.

Biografia

Nascut amb el nom de Henry George Carey, Jr en Saugus, Califòrnia, Estats Units, fill del famós actor Harry Carey (1878-1947) i de l'actriu Olive Fuller Golden (1896-1988).

Gran actor de caràcter, com el seu pare, va actuar en un gran nombre de pel·lícules de gènere western. Van aparèixer junts en l'aclamada pel·lícula de 1948, Riu Vermell. Harry Carey, Jr va servir a la Marina dels Estats Units durant la Segona Guerra Mundial. Va fer quatre pel·lícules amb l'aclamat director de cinema Howard Hawks: Riu Vermell (1948), Monkey Business (1952), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) i Riu Bravo (1959). També va fer 10 pel·lícules amb l'actor John Wayne, des de Riu Vermell fins Cahill US Marshal (1973).

Carey era amic i freqüent col·laborador del famós director John Ford. Va aparèixer en pel·lícules notables de Ford: 3 Godfathers (1948), La legió invencible (1949), Wagon Master (1950), Rio Grande (1950), Silver Lode (1954), The Long Gray Line (1955), Escala a Hawaii (1955), The Searchers (1956), Dos cavalquen junts (1961) i Cheyenne Autumn (1964). Més tard va escriure un llibre sobre Ford titulat Company of Heroes. Els seus últims treballs en cinema són: The Exorcist III, Back to the Future Part III (1990), Tombstone (1993), The Sunchaser (1996).[1][2]
