Diaphus taaningi és una espècie de peix de la família dels mictòfids i de l'ordre dels mictofiformes.
Morfologia
Reproducció
Té una fecunditat de, si fa no fa, 1.000 ous per femella.[5]
Depredadors
A Namíbia és depredat per Merluccius capensis.[6][7]
Hàbitat
És un peix marí i d'aigües profundes que viu entre 40-475m de fondària.[3]
Distribució geogràfica
Es troba a l'Atlàntic oriental[8] i a l'Atlàntic occidental (des dels Estats Units i el Canadà[9] fins al Golf de Mèxic, el Carib i les Guaianes).[10][11][3][12]
